REGIONAL BLUES FESTIVALS
Saturday May 10
Buddy Whittington will join The Atomic Fireballs, featuring Carlos Crull and Johnny Watson at the Fourth Annual Brew-Ha-Ha microbrew and comedy extravaganza on May 10 in Cañon City. The event is a fundraiser for the Fremont Center for the Arts (www.fremontarts.org) - and will feature more than 20 Colorado microbrewers (plus a couple of out-of-staters!), accompanied by stand-up comedians.
Held at Veterans Park on U.S. Highway 50 at the west end of Cañon City, the event will kick off with a beer tasting session from 3 to 6 p.m. More than 60 different brews will be featured, including award-winning beers from most of Colorado's top microbrewers, while stand-up comedians entertain from the stage.
At 6 p.m., the Atomic Fireballs will take the stage with a great variety of blues, jump & swing, R&B and even a little country! The band will feature terrific vocal harmonies with Watson, Crull, brothers Dennis and Larry Heid, Rusty DiSanti and Matt Kouba. And with Whittington joining in to help benefit the Fremont Center for Arts, the event promises to be extraordinary!

THIRD ANNUAL BOB DYLAN BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE
TO BENEFIT BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS

at The Falcon, 3295 S. Broadway in Englewood (near the Gothic Theater). The show begins at 8 pm each night. More than 80 Colorado musicians will perform the songs of recent Pulitzer Prize winner Bob Dylan, celebrating his 67th Birthday while raising funds for CBS to use in funding Blues in the Schools.

There will be an additional Bowling for Blues fundraiser held at The Falcon Bowl on the afternoon of Dylan’s birthday, Saturday, May 24th. Details will be announced soon. The owners of Gothic Theatre have launched the new and exciting multi-use entertainment hot spot: The Falcon – Denver’s premier all-in-one gathering place. A Rock-N-Bowl ambiance combined with a SCI-FI motif is the name of the game for the brand new, 250-person capacity venue located just two doors south of the historic Gothic Theater.

Thursday June 5, this year’s blowdown features Al Chesis, Ronnie Shellist and Steve “Homeboy” Williams. Joe Sciallo’s band provides the backup from 7-11 pm at Venue 515 (Manitou Business of Art Center), 515 Manitou Ave., in Manitou Springs. There will also be a blues photo exhibit by Lilian Kaiser.
